Update: May 16, 2026

These are my current settings to run LMU smooth in VR. With the help of Geir Akslen you will have a steady 90 fps most of the time if your setup is close to my specifications. I am not going in depth about each individual setting and the performance difference it brings. Settings are tested with my Windows Mixed Reality HP Reverb G2. To get started you need to install a couple very important programs.

Installation

  • Install the latest OpenXR Toolkit: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1lYT8i393Wnvp9L87ICHWdqkezZpujx2v
  • Grab and replace the Toolkits original DLL with OhneSpeed's modded version (download link in video description): https://youtu.be/CieIQ7cE4CU
⚠️ I recommend watching the video aswell. His modifications has legit boosted performance gained from these drop in replacement things to a degree which is quite surprising.
  • As it has no installer, grab and unzip the OpenComposite Launcher to somewhere you can write to without needing administrative privileges (ie. Documents or %appdata%), then open the folder, right click and hold the .exe while moving the mouse to the desktop and release the right mouse button, then click Create shortcut from the menu: https://gitlab.com/znixian/OpenOVR. You will find the download link a bit down on the page.

Settings OpenXR

  • Under the first tab 'Performance' set Upscaling/Sharpening to CAS, leave rest as default
  • Under tab 'System' set Override resolution to crop2FoV. Now play around with the settings Resolution (per eye). I have it set to 63%. Higher the better but comes with a cost. After that; restart your VR and you are ready to go to LMU ingame settings.
